The first time I stayed at a bed & breakfast was when my wife and I went on our first anniversary vacation weekend. We knew we wanted to continue away, we just have not been sure where or the things we wanted to do.
A colleague of hers showed her a book of bed & breakfasts’ around the United Pronounces. She brought the book home to me to take a look to see what I thought about going to one of these for our anniversary. With zero experience (at the time) and zero an understanding of bed & breakfasts’ I was a bit skeptical. Must really want to spend my weekend staying in someone’s home?
The more I discover the bed & breakfast lifestyle, the more I came to be intrigued, until finally my girlfriend got hooked and we booked a bed & breakfast in upstate Vermont. I can honestly say it was a wonderful time. The bed & breakfast owners treated us like royalty, waited on us like we were a king and queen, and the actual meals (that was included within our purchase price) was simply unbelievable.
Since then my niece and I tend to be to two other bed & breakfasts, one in Williamsburg, VA and another in upstate Manhattan near Seneca Body of water. Although the concept 1 bed & breakfast were similar, they were different in several different ways. For instance in Vermont at breakfast and dinner (both that were included) we sat at your table in the adjoining restaurant. In NY and VA we ate a big table with every one of the other guests. In VA the owners took care of everything, well them and their little kids. In NY and VT the owners ran the place but also had help to get rooms ready whilst the place fully clean. In VT we had our own outside entrance to our room as if your room was many of our house. In NY and VA you would your own bedroom in the same house with the additional guests.
Regardless of whichever style you choose, if you in no way stayed at a bed & breakfast you should. 1 was wonderful and you really felt as you were part of the owner’s family a person stayed there.
I would recommend first pick a locale where you know you would cherish to stay. A person like the reams? How about the sun or a tropical island? Once realize what you truly want to do, take a look up the bed & breakfasts all of the areas that you targeted and start reading up for them. Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other book stores have an assortment of books you can search without purchasing purchase this information. You can even go to check your local library or look for your bed & breakfast directory online.
Once you have the location and have it narrowed down to at least or two possible bed & breakfast choices, start pricing them out uncover if they are available in your budget. I noticed you that they a bit pricier then a normal hotel room (some of them anyway). However verify what sort of amenities you get for your selling price tag. Most come with breakfast, otherwise always be just be called Bed & go outside of my house in the time of day. You get the feature. Some also serve dinner and offer afternoon tea & something to eat. Find out what you get for your cash flow. It will definitely along with your decision.
